He lives in an old three-story apartment building and attends Bryce Academy, though he has attempted to convince his mother to send him to another school as she has low income working as a librarian.
While attending Bryce, James met Reina Stevenson, a strange girl, always listening to punk music on her big headphones and picking at the holes in her jeans. Reina may have seemed strange, but she became James' only friend at Bryce.
Partway through the his Junior year, he comes to suspect that someone is watching him. He discovers that the teaching staff of Bryce have been watching him extremely closely; he runs. This is his first mistake.
Bryce Academy, founded by Christopher M. Bryce, great-great grandfather of Reina Stevenson, turns out to be a focal point of ethereal mayhem and ancient crisis. James' mother had sent him to Bryce to be guarded from any negative exterior forces; there, the Script Organization could monitor any developments in his Guardian abilities' awakening.
James escapes the fortress of Bryce only to be thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire. Facing his mother proving to be too difficult, he runs from home, entering a world where anything is possible, where magic blooms around all those aware, and where an ancient confrontation, one as old and written history dates, if fought between the forces of Chaos and Order.
James Ozpin must awaken to what lies just beneath the surface of the not-so-average 17 year old highschooler. He must become the a Guardian, learn the lessons of Order, and master all the elemental forces governed by all the previous Guardians of the Guardian Incarnate Cycle. To restore balance, or to utterly destroy all that is held dear, James will either rise to the occasion, or Chaos will tip the scales of Fate, and all will forever be lost.
